This weekend we had the very first hackathon on campus at Erasmus University. It was devoted to developing ideas for future education. Teams of students were coached by lecturers and also received technical support during this 24 hour event. Many teams came up with ideas to bridge the gap between their academic education and their future professional live. It was a pleasure to serve on the jury and to give one of the prizes to ‘EUR wallet’, an app that enables students to catalogue their accomplishments in their study and their accomplishments outside their studies, for example in their volunteer work or their student-job. The wallet also included a option called ‘EUR market’, which enabled external parties to offer jobs, volunteer engagements, events etc. The hackathon was concluded on the sunny Plaza with handing out the awards.
