The Gemeentemuseum in The Hague has an excellent overview of Rothko’s work. I have always felt attached to his paintings. Today, it was once more hammered into my mind how much Rothko hated to talk about his work. In short: Look at the painting, postpone your talking. Weird, to return home after the exhibition and occupy myself with writing (and reading). The painting is Untitled, 1953.
